
i am a fussy eater. i don't eat meat and i am picky about my fish.
mackerel is everywhere. i can't escape it. sometimes it's pretty and it lures me as i am a sucker for designed food. this mackerel dish is rather special and aesthetically pleasing of course. impeccable pedigree too as it's from el celler de can roca in girona, spain. and i didn't have to eat it, my father did.
my parents live in the catalunya region in northern spain which is renown for its culinary prowess, home of the defunct el bulli and of over 50 restaurants awarded one or more michelin stars. my father probably ate in all of them, i tag along when i visit my parents.
